Edvard Erdal

Violin

Edvard Erdal (1996) is a Norwegian violinist. He studied with Stephan Barratt-Due in Oslo and Ulf Wallin in Berlin. Currently he serves as associate concert master in the Norwegian Opera Orchestra, and member of the Opus13 quartet. Edvard regularly appears at most of the major festivals in Norway, and has performed with musicians such as Leif Ove Andsnes, Alisa Weilerstein, Tabea Zimmermann, Eric Lu and Andreas Brantelid.

He is already a sought-after orchestral leader and has been guest concert master in many Norwegian orchestras, such as Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. In the fall of 2022, Edvard worked as principle 2nd violin in the Oslo Philharmonic, with performances including The Proms and a European tour with concerts in halls such as the Elbphilharmonie and Wiener Konzerthaus with the orchestra's chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä.

Edvard is playing on a 1776 Tommasi Eberle, generously on loan from Dextra Musica.
