Marco Bottet

Bassoon

Marco Bottet is an Italian-French bassoonist. After his bassoon graduation in Venice he continued his path with Liborio Guarneri at the Conservatory of Como, with Matthias Rácz at the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich and with Karsten Nagel and Till Heine at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum in Augsburg.

Besides distinguishing himself in some national and international competitions performing as a soloist and in chamber music groups, he has focused on his orchestra career.

Starting with youth orchestras he was appointed principal bassoon in the Italian Youth Orchestra (2015), and in the L. Cherubini Orchestra (2016–2019), founded and mainly conducted by Riccardo Muti.

Since 2016 he has regularly been a guest player in several symphonic, operatic and chamber music projects with several Italians and Germans professional orchestras, such as Teatro del Maggio musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio of Torino, Gran Teatro la Fenice of Venice, Münchner Rundfunkorchester of Munich, and Hofer symphoniker.

After substituting as principal bassoon for the spring season 2023 at the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, he was in September appointed Principal bassoon in Vaasa City Orchestra.
